Elon Musk says AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) could be more dangerous than nuclear weapons because, unlike a nuclear bomb, AGI could potentially act autonomously, improve itself, manipulate information systems, and operate across every connected part of society at once.

His concern is not simply that AI could be used as a weapon, but that a sufficiently intelligent system might become difficult to control or align with human values. But wait, which Musk companies are truly aligned with human values?

Anyway, a superintelligent AI, by contrast, could become an independent actor capable of influencing economies, infrastructure, communications, cybersecurity, and even military systems ... like powerful elitists who currently do this now...Every powerful technology amplifies the consciousness, values, and incentives of the people and systems that create it. If our institutions are driven primarily by competition, profit, power, and speed, then AI may simply accelerate those dynamics.

Is our wisdom, self-awareness, and capacity for cooperation developed enough to steward this tech?Funny side note about culture, people, including ourselves, have been saying this about AI for years, yet culture tends to listen to arguments only when certain people say them... what does that say about how we make sense of reality and how easily we can be controlled when it comes to what we think about?
