Norway have no problem with immigration in general, but it is NOT compatible with a welfare state like the one Norway has. We are really attracting the wrong kind of people. Either we must stop handing out citizenship like candy, or we must dismantle the welfare state. ”The non-Western immigrant population makes up 14 percent of Norway’s population and totals 768,000 people. This is a doubling in 15 years and a quadrupling since the turn of the century.

According to researchers at Statistics Norway (SSB), this represents a net fiscal burden equivalent to more than the use of oil revenues. Last year it exceeded 450 billion NOK. According to data from the Ministry of Finance for 2010–2018, the average assessed tax paid by a non-Western immigrant aged 25–62 was less than half that of other citizens in the same age group—49 percent, to be exact. Norway-born descendants were included in the rest of the population.Receives 26 times more social assistance.

The average employment rate for non-Western immigrants was 57 percent (full-time or part-time). This means that at least 4 out of 10 people of working age were completely outside the labor market.Full-time employment, however, was only 36 percent, meaning that more than 6 out of 10 non-Western immigrants of working age were fully or partially dependent on welfare payments. On January 16 this year, SSB wrote that 74 percent of all social assistance in Norway goes to immigrants. Since immigrants make up 18 percent of the population (including Western immigrants), this means that the average immigrant receives 13 times more social assistance than the average non-immigrant citizen. If Western immigrants are excluded from the calculation, the figure rises to 26 times.
