COLUTION BETWEEN THE GOV-REPS. AND THE BUSINESS ELITE.

There is reason to question the judgment of several people who have held prominent positions in Norwegian society, such as former Labour Party prime minister Thorbjørn Jagland, former Labour Party minister Terje Rød-Larsen, and former Labour Party state secretary—now ambassador—Mona Juul.

As the case now appears, it seems there has been a culture in which top diplomats and a small group at the top of Norwegian society cultivated friendships with rich and powerful individuals in order to build networks that also appear to have been used to obtain advantages and personal gain.

It is good that Økokrim has now announced that they will take a closer look at the case. It is absolutely crucial for trust in democracy that all cards are put on the table.

It is also absolutely necessary that the Crown Princess corrects the inaccurate information she previously gave, claiming that there had only been fleeting contact between her and the sex offender Epstein. Everything indicates that this was a close friendship.

I sympathize with the King and the Queen. They have done a fantastic job for Norway. They did not deserve this.
