THE CALL OF THE TIDE.

THE CALL OF THE TIDE.

By T.Chr.-Human Synthesis-25 August 2025

I must go down to the waves again, to the restless surge and foam, To the heave of the deck and the wind’s sharp song, where the sea is ever home.

And all I ask is a steady wheel, and the gull’s wild cry above, And the salt spray cold on my weathered face, in the trade-wind’s gust I love.

I must go down to the waves again, where the tide runs fierce and free,To chase the path of the wandering clouds on the wide and rolling sea.

And all I seek is the dawn’s first light and a star to guide me through, And the sweep of the prow on the silvered waves, with a world made fresh and new.

I must go down to the waves again, to the sailor’s life I claim, To the foam, the storm, and the brine-soaked decks, for the sea calls out my name.

And all I dream is a final rest when the voyage long is done, With the hush of waves for a lullaby and the setting of the sun..

"For we must take the tide when it serves or loose our venture"
