Overview Of Russian Strikes In Ukraine On October 24, 2024

The rear infrastructure of the Ukrainian military is coming under devastating Russian strikes on a daily basis. Despite the multi billion aid from NATO and supply of advanced air defense systems, the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot protect strategically important facilities throughout the country.
Russian drones came back to the capital of Ukraine. Last night, about a dozen explosions thundered in different districts of Kyiv. Some of Russian drones were intercepted by Ukrainian air defense reinforced by additional air defense systems transferred from other regions after the previous devastating Russian attacks on the capital.
According to unconfirmed reports that cited Turkish intelligence, Russian strikes destroyed another battery of the US-made Patriot system deployed on the outskirts of Kyiv. Thus, in total, Ukrainian forces lost at least 20 such systems supplied by the US.
Since the beginning of the Russian Special Military Operation in Ukraine, at least 22 S-300 batteries, 20 Patriot batteries, seven IRIS-T batteries, 11 Buks, 4 NASAMS, 1 Aspid-2000, 3 HAWKS, 1 Supacat, 1 C-125 and 3 Gepard, 3 Tunguska systems, as well as 43 radar stations, have been destroyed in Ukraine.
Russian night strikes targeted infrastructure of Ukrainian military airfields in different regions. The Russian military is definately set to disrupt the operations of the Air Force of Ukraine and destroy the key bases of the Ukrainian airfield infrastructure with regular strikes.
One of them was the airfield in Ozernoe in Zhitomir region, which hosts the 39th Brigade of Tactical Aviation of the Air Force of Ukraine. Large fires broke out at the airfield. Russian strikes reportedly destroyed warehouses and fuel depots. Several Ukrainian aircraft were damaged.
On the night of October 24th, Russian kamikaze drones raided the town of Starokonstantinov in Khmelnitsk region, where the notorious military airfield is located. According to Russian monitoring sources, the facilities used for accommodation of aircrews and technical personnel of the airfield were struck. One of the targets was the Fiesta Hotel, where radio communication and navigation specialists lived. As a result of the strike, one of the foreign military specialists, a French citizen, was reportedly wounded. The victim is supposed to be an instructor who was training the Ukrainian military to use the French-made Colibri UAVs.
Russian forces also launched strikes on Ukrainian military facilities in Poltava region, where one of the targets was reportedly the military airfield.
Another airfield that came under Russian strikes is located in the town of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The airfield is likely not actively used by the Air Force of Ukraine because the Russian army is advancing not far from the town but the facilities of the airfield are used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for various purposes.
The southern port city of Odessa is also coming under daily Russian strikes. Last night, one of them damaged the allseeds entreprise which was struck by Kh-31P missiles launched by Russian Su-30 fighters. The facilities if the entreprise are used by the Ukrainian military to support the operations of air defense systems, store fuel and necessary military equipment.
Another target of the night strikes was the Zmeiny island which is currently under control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and and important foothold for attacks on the Russian Crimean peninsula. Russian Tu-22M3 launched airstrikes with Kh-22 missiles on the military positions of Ukrainian Special Forces operating on the island.
Russian missile strikes were recorded in Dnepropetrovsk region. Explosions thundered in the outskirts of Krivy Rih. Russian drones also attacked targets near the city of Vinnitsa in Vinnitsa region.
Together with massive strikes in Ukrainian rear regions, Russian forces are pounding the Ukrainian military and military equipment from NATO in the war-torn eastern regions.
On October 24th, the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered heavy damage as a result of Russian strikes in the area of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic. At about midday, Russian strikes destroyed hangars of a farm in the village of Rozliv. They were used by the 33rd separate mechanized brigade of the AFU ti hide the German Leopard 2A4 tanks. As a result of the attack, ammunition and several Leopard 2A4 tanks were destroyed and damaged. The exact number is unknown.
Russian upgraded FAB-250 heavy bombs destroyed Ukrainian ammo depot hidden in the building of the local post in the town of Kurakhovo. As a result of the strikes, a large fire with prolonged secondary detonation broke out in the area and ruined the building.
The Russian troops are already storming the town of Kurakhovo launching attacks from Maksimilianovka located to the east. Supported by their military reconnaissance and devastating precision strikes of the Aerospace Forces who are pounding Ukrainian positions in the town and disrupt their military supplies, Russian forces are rapidly advancing in the Kurakhovo direction. The same tactics bring victories on all frontlines.
In their turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine failed to reach any targets in the Russian rear regions. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the night, the air defense forces of the Russian Federation destroyed 7 UAVs, as well as a missile over the Black Sea waters near Sevastopol.
