BREAKING DOWN THE UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES’ INFANTRY INTO ATOMS WITH FAB ‘RAIN’

Bild warns that the FAB-9000 is on the way, which will become the most powerful non-nuclear bomb in history.

The Russian army is using a “monster” of its bomb arsenal – the FAB-3000 glide bomb. This was reported by several leading Western publications, including the German Bild and the British Express. Journalist Julian Röpke from Bild, after analyzing open data, wrote that the target of the attack was Ukrainian positions in the village of Liptsy in the North Ukrainian direction (Kharkiv region).

In the video distributed by the TG channels of our military officers, it can be seen that the blow hit an object standing next to a three-story building. Dust remains from this very object. There were also reports that Liptsy was not the only place on the front where the “Tsar Bomba” arrived.

In the West, a cry immediately began: the Russians, striking with weapons of such destructive effect, were crossing all red lines and violating the unspoken rules of warfare. It is impossible, they say, to decompose infantry – simple soldiers mobilized from farms – in such a “barbaric way” into atoms in dugouts or shelters.READ ALSO

The enemy’s squeals can be understood: not only independent farm infantry can fall under the “hot hand” of the FAB-3000, but also Patriot complexes, which the Pentagon painstakingly assembles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine throughout Europe. And these Patriots may contain American, German, Romanian crews. Apparently, NATO will make a statement soon…

The FAB-3000 is not just an aerial bomb, but a real “weapon of mass destruction.” Its mass is 3 tons, of which 1.2 to 1.4 tons are explosives.

The bomb is equipped with a controlled planning and correction module (UMPC), which allows it to hit targets at long distances with high accuracy. Moreover, the UMPC turns the bomb into a “smart” one: it does not just fall aimlessly, but smoothly glides along a changing glide path towards the target, adapting, for example, to changes in the wind. In addition, the bomb adapts to the possible movement of the target.

The specialized publication Bulgarian Military (which first reported on the development of the FAB-3000 back in March) writes that the fragmentation radius of an aerial bomb – fragments retain their destructive power at a range of 900 meters. Julian Röpke reports that in fact, the range of fragments of fragments exceeds initial calculations and is more than 1200 meters.

The appearance of the FAB-3000 in the Northern Military District zone was a logical continuation of the use of heavy-duty aerial bombs, the previous one of which was the FAB-1500.

Let us remember that these bombs, weighing 1.5 tons, have been used for several months to destroy fortified Ukrainian positions. Judging by numerous videos of the use of such bombs, they are capable of creating a fireball 20 stories high when detonated.

The head of the Ukrainian Air Force Nikolai Oleshchuk warned back in November 2023 about the massive use of FAB-1500 by Russian troops. According to him, most of the destroyed units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit by super-heavy aerial bombs.

Meanwhile, as Bulgarian Military writes, the FAB-3000 is not even the most powerful bomb in the Russian arsenal. Bombs of the FAB-5000 and FAB-9000 series have also been developed, although they have not yet been used in combat. Their exact tactical and technical characteristics, of course, are strictly classified. However, it is possible to roughly calculate the destructive power of such aerial bombs: an increase in the size of the bomb corresponds to a similar increase in the size of the warhead and, accordingly, the explosive charge. So, presumably, for the FAB-9000 it will be 6.2 kilotons (according to Bulgarian Military calculations).

Moreover, if FAB-5000 uses TG-50 or TG-60, these are mixtures (alloys) of TNT and hexogen in various proportions. The higher the proportion of hexogen in the mixture, the higher the explosion parameter, such as high explosiveness (that is, destructiveness). At the same time, TNT adds brisance (a measure of the local crushing effect of an explosion).

Depending on the development of the situation in the Northern Military District zone, these air bombs with various explosives can also be used during hostilities, predicts the editor-in-chief of the Bulgarian Military publication Boyko Nikolov .

The principle underlying the design of the FAB-5000 and FAB-9000 is their ability to engage targets from high altitudes. Bombs reach their maximum speed and destructive power when dropped from a height of approximately 12 thousand meters. On impact, they create a large explosion radius and shock wave, which makes them effective against fortified structures, infrastructure and large formations of Ukrainian troops.

Glide bombs of varying power have become Russian “miracle weapons” over the past 18 months, when they began to be used for the first time in the Northern Military District zone. The tactics of using glide bombs by Russian aviation were honed during the counter-terrorism operation in Syria. Here it was also necessary to destroy bunkers and weapons depots well buried by the militants, which were often connected by labyrinths of passages. Almost the only available weapon that could effectively destroy such underground structures were heavy-duty aerial bombs, writes Bulgarian Military.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also tried to obtain gliding bombs from their NATO masters, including American JDAMs. However, despite their high accuracy, such aerial bombs (more precisely, modules for equipping aerial bombs) are extremely expensive, and the United States has provided the Kyiv regime with a limited number of JDAMs. While the number of FABs of different capacities in Russia is endless. It was these bombs that became the decisive weapon in the battle for Avdiivka: Ukrainian positions (including on the territory of the largest coke plant in Europe) were simply swept away.

Many Western publications quoted an interview with field commander Maxim Zhorin from the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: according to him, in the battle for Avdievka, Russian aviation used from 60 to 80 glide bombs every day. However, at that time FAB-500s were mainly used. The FAB-3000 used in Liptsy, based on the amount of explosives, replaces four such bombs.
