Russian Army has Taken Full Control of the Strategic Town of Donetsk Republic. Kyiv lost more than 1,500 Troops

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has informed President Vladimir Putin that the town of Avdeyevka near Donetsk has been taken under full control, the Defense Ministry stated.
“Today in the Kremlin, Russian Defense Minister Army General Shoigu reported to the supreme commander-in-chief of the Russian Armed Forces that the Center grouping of forces under command of Col. Gen. Andrey Mordvichevhas taken under full control the town of Avdeyevka of the Donetsk People’s Republic, which was a massive fortified stronghold of Ukraine’s armed forces,” the ministry said.
“In the Kremlin today, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin the group of troops Center under the command of Colonel-General Andrey Mordvichev gained full control of the town of Avdeyevka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic, which was a major stronghold of the Ukrainian military,” the Defense Ministry said.
An area of 31.75 square kilometers has been liberated from Ukrainian nationalists. The enemy’s losses in the fighting for Avdeyevka over the past 24 hours alone exceeded 1,500 men.
Under continued Russian fire only scattered groups of Ukrainian militants managed to escape, abandoning weapons and military equipment. At present, measures are being taken to clear the town of militants and seal off Ukrainian forces that have fled the locality and entrenched themselves at the Avdeyevka coke and chemical plant, the Defense Ministry said.
The Ministry stressed that information about the advance of Russian troops was not made public until the complete defeat of the enemy and the establishment of full control of the locality.
“The liberation of Avdeyevka made it possible to push the frontline away from Donetsk, thus significantly securing it from terrorist strikes by the criminal Kyiv regime. The group of forces Center continues offensive operations to further liberate the Donetsk People’s Republic from Ukrainian nationalists,” it added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, having heard Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu’s report on the liberation of Avdeyevka in the Kremlin, congratulated the Russian military on this success and important victory, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told the media.
“In the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin heard Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu’s report on the capture of Avdeyevka. The President congratulated our military personnel, our fighters upon such an important victory and such a success,” he said.
In the Kremlin earlier today, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu reported to Putin on the complete seizure of Avdeyevka by the group of forces Center under the command of Colonel-General Andrey Mordvichev. This town near Donetsk was a major fortified stronghold of the Ukrainian military. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, as a result of the operation an area of 31.75 square kilometers was liberated.
The enemy’s losses in the battle for Avdeyevka during the past 24 hours exceeded 1,500. The liberation of the town has pushed the front line away from Donetsk.

Ukrainian troops retreated from Avdeyevka because the regime of President Vladimir Zelensky knows how to fight only for money and only against civiliansKyiv, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.
“No, not for that reason. But because ZePresident and the gang know how to ‘fight’ only for big money, which goes straight into their pockets, and only against civilians. Everything else doesn’t matter to them,” the diplomat said, commenting on Zelensky saying that the city was abandoned to save people’s lives.
It was reported earlier that the Ukrainian operational-strategic group of troops Tavria, which is responsible for control of Avdeyevka, continued to surrender its positions in the city. “Ukrainian troops maneuver out of destroyed positions… and if necessary they take hold of new positions. Unfortunately, during one of such maneuvers several of our troops were captured,” the group’s commander Alexander Tarnavsky said.

Pundit Class Now Openly Touts 'Benefits' Of Ukrainians Dying

Things are worse for the Ukrainian side than Western pundits and officials ever imagined. The widely reported fall of Avdiivka in Donetsk oblast last week was a bit of a shock to mainstream thinking concerning the state of the war. It demonstrates that the front lines are not 'stalemated' as we were told, and as has been the common media assumption, but the reality is the Russians will keep making gains.
Two completely contrasting mainstream media reports from recent days highlight that the American national security establishment is still trying to come to grips with what's happening. First, statefunded Voice of America (VOA)on Feb. 16 cited a senior US defense official to claim that Russia is suffering "staggering losses despite Ukraine's supply shortages" as the headline reads.
