ELIZABETH HAGEN DISAPPEARANCE

"The disappearance - Lørenskog 31 October 2018" on Netflix

This is how the creators defend the series

Tom Hagen's lawyer Svein Holden reacts strongly to the fact that a Netflix series is being made about Anne-Elisabeth Hagen's disappearance. The director believes that the series is important.

Dagbladet - Kjetil Stoveland - Published Wednesday 14 September 2022 -

On Wednesday, the controversial series "The Disappearance - Lørenskog 31 October 2018" premieres on Netflix.

The series focuses on the investigators, journalists and lawyers "who, in the wake of the kidnapping of Anne-Elisabeth Hagen, are sucked into a vortex of theories, speculations and rumours". The series is a fictional series that shows the development of the case from Anne-Elisabeth Hagen disappeared on 31 October 2018 until 31 October 2020.

On the cast list we find, among others, Terje Strømdahl in the role of Anne-Elisabeth Hagen's husband Tom Hagen. Hagen is still charged with murder or complicity in the murder of his wife.

Tom Hagen has denied guilt throughout the process, and claims he has nothing to do with his wife's disappearance.

Dagbladet has tried to contact Tom Hagen's lawyer, Svein Holden, for a comment on the series. The inquiry has so far not been answered.

Management resigns

- A riddle

Series creators Nikolaj Frobenius and Stephen Uhlander say that neither Tom Hagen, nor family members of Anne-Elisabeth are central characters in the Netflix series.

- They are peripheral. They have been combined and largely anonymised. Tom Hagen is not a main character either. He is a person people see through a prism. He is an enigma, or a person that the other characters look up to, says Frobenius to Dagbladet.

In the series, however, the main characters are several, and it concerns, among others, the investigator Jorun (Yngvild Støen Grotmol) and the journalist Erlend (Christian Rubeck). The lawyers in the case, among others the defender for Tom Hagen Svein Holden, are also portrayed in the series.

Frobenius says that the purpose of the series is to show how we as a society react when a case like the Lørenskog disappearance remains unsolved. That was also how the planning of the series began.

Frobenius and Uhlander concluded that the series should focus on several characters who had completely different approaches to the case.

- It is about those who are involved in the case and the search for the answer, and what it does to them, says Stephen Uhlander to Dagbladet.

- The question of guilt will not be a central issue in it. That was not our entrance, Uhlander continues.

Frobenius says that the series does not attempt to prove anything, either on one side or the other.

- We do not have a central argument. We are not trying to prove that Tom Hagen is guilty or innocent, we are not trying to show one or the other. We try to show: that's how you can see it from that point of view, that's how you can see it from the other point of view, says Frobenius.

When asked if the series is socially critical, Frobenius replies:

- Absolutely. It is a series that has a critical attitude towards both the media community, of which we are all a part, how the police work, but also towards ourselves and how we think about guilt and innocence, says Frobenius.

- Huge additional load

Ahead of the series premiere, Tom Hagen's lawyer Svein Holden has been critical of the series. In January, Holden stated the following to Dagbladet about the Netflix series:

- For my client, the project involves an enormous additional burden. I myself fear that the series could have negative consequences for the ongoing investigation of the case, said Holden.

To VG, Holden stated on Monday that they are continuously considering legal action against the series, but emphasizes that they must have seen the series before they can say whether it will be relevant.

Frobenius understands that it is difficult for Tom Hagen and his family that a series is made about the unsolved disappearance of Anne-Elisabeth Hagen.

- We understand that it will be difficult anyway to make a series like this. We have of course talked about that a lot. But it is not a series about the family. This series is about the case and those who work on the case, says Frobenius.

If the family wants to watch the series, Frobenius has a hope:

- If they want to see the series, I hope they register that here there is also a very heavy defense of the family's perspective, says Frobenius.

New series: - Huge load

- Important

Director Erik Skjoldbjærg tells Dagbladet that he would not have taken part in the project if the series decided on the question of guilt.

- I was very clear that I did not want to make any series that made any allegations about the issue of guilt. I don't think we have any expertise in that. Here it is the police who have worked intensively - and to some extent journalists - without finding those answers, says Skjoldbjærg.

When Skjoldbjærg and co-director Gjyljeta Berisha started working on the series, they wanted to talk to the investigative team that has been investigating the case since Anne-Elisabeth Hagen was abducted on 31 October 2018. However, they did not want to participate.

- We have largely worked on talking to police officers about how the police normally work. In this case, we did not have access to the investigative team at Lørenskog. They didn't want to talk to us. We have had to rely on what is out in the public eye, as well as talking to other police officers.

Co-director Berisha says that they have also spoken to several journalists.

- We have spoken to various crime journalists, and they mean different things and work in completely different ways, says Berisha.

Although it is almost four years since Anne-Elisabeth Hagen disappeared, the case is still unsolved, and the investigation is still ongoing. Tom Hagen has been charged with murder or complicity in the murder of his wife for almost two and a half years.

When asked if it is too early for the series to be made, Skjoldbjærg replies:

- It would be too early if we were to claim anything about the question of guilt. I think it is now important to make a series about how we are affected by a case that has not yet been solved. There is a battle going on for public opinion that everyone can be influenced by, says Skjoldbjærg, and continues:

- In that sense, I think the series is important now. But it is an aggravating circumstance that it is a case that is ongoing, and that affects people in a difficult situation, concludes Skjoldbjærg.

The bottom line is for the people to regain their original, moral principles, which have intentionally been watered out over the past generations by our press, TV, and other media owned by the Illuminati/Bilderberger Group, corrupting our morals by making misbehavior acceptable to our society. Only in this way shall we conquer this oncoming wave of evil.
