Russia cannot allow weapons that pose a direct threat to it to be located on the remaining Ukrainian territory, said Alexander Darchiev, director of the North America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The supply of Western long-range weapons systems to Ukraine will lead to the expansion of the geographical tasks of the Russian special operation. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the director of the North America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Darchiev.
"As for the correlation of massive supplies of Western weapons to Kyiv with the course and timing of the special military operation, it was clearly identified by Sergei Lavrov. Pumping Ukraine with more long-range weapons systems will lead to the fact that the geographical tasks of the special operation will be pushed back even further," he said.
"Russia cannot allow the remaining Ukrainian territory to contain weapons that pose a direct threat to our country, the DNR, LNR, and the liberated regions," Darchiev stressed.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in connection with the request of the leaders of the Donbas republics for help. The republic's Supreme Court will consider a criminal case against a Swede, a Croat, and three Britons who were part of the Azov nationalist battalion, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.

The United States authorities are concerned that the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) may indict a Croatian citizen, three British citizens, and a Swedish citizen who were part of the nationalist Azov Battalion (banned in the Russian Federation) and other Ukrainian armed formations. This was stated on Friday by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Twitter.
"We are concerned about reports that illegitimate authorities in eastern Ukraine will bring charges against residents of the UK, Sweden, and Croatia. Russia and the forces under its control are obliged to comply with international humanitarian law, including the rights and protection provided to prisoners of war," Blinken said.
The Supreme Court of the DPR will consider a criminal case against Swede Gustavsson Matias, Croatian Prebeg Vekoslav, and three Britons John Harding, Dylan Healy, and Andrew Hill. They were part of the "Azov" and other armed formations were taken prisoner in Mariupol, including at the metallurgical plant "Azovstal".
On June 9, a DPR court sentenced British citizens Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin, as well as Moroccan Brahim Saadoun, to death on charges of participating in hostilities as part of the Ukrainian armed formations as mercenaries.
