This was announced on Wednesday by the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.

Before that, according to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to launch artillery strikes from the Sumy region on the border regions of the Russian Federation to provoke a return fire.

"After staged retaliatory fire, allegedly carried out by the Russian armed forces, in the provocation area, Ukrainian special services plan to spray highly toxic substances," said Mizintsev, who heads Russia's interdepartmental coordinating headquarters for humanitarian response in Ukraine.

The general noted that in the city of Sumy, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and militants of territorial defense units were given chemical protection suits. Conducted training on the procedure for declaring a chemical alarm.
