We also find California Governor Gavin Newsom on the list as well as current US Secretary of Transportation Peter Buttigieg. All of these politicians who have been in power for the past two years have advocated a tough response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the school’s alumni list is not limited to political leaders. We also find many private business leaders there, including Bill Gates of Microsoft, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Richard Branson of Virgin, and Chelsea Clinton of the Clinton Foundation. Once again, they have all expressed support for the global response to the pandemic, and many have reaped significant profits from the measures taken. Wolf believes that the people behind the WEF and the school do determine who becomes the political leader, although he does not believe that Schwab himself makes these decisions, but is simply an executor.

Another common feature of alumni is that most of them have very meager resumes, which may indicate that it is their connection with the Schwab institutions that is the decisive factor early in their careers.
